About me

I am a mathematician, and my main interest is in permutations under the pattern containment partial order, and in particular the Möbius function on intervals in these posets. A list of my publications is

I submitted my PhD thesis, entitled "On the Möbius function of permutations under the pattern containment order" in April 2020, and successfully defended it in May 2020. My external examiner was
Prof. Einar Steingrímsson ( University of Strathclyde ), and my internal examiner was Dr. Bridget Webb . My PhD was written whilst in the School of Mathematics and Statistics at The Open University. My principal supervisor was Dr. Robert Brignall , and my second supervisor was Prof. Jozef Širáň .

Prior to starting my PhD, I had a 40-year career in business, with roles including software development, operations management, business management and leadership.
